Reed Health Law Branding & Website

Branding, Website

A credentialing site for a boutique Kentucky healthcare law firm that positions a solo practitioner with former state General Counsel experience as national-caliber counsel for hospital boards and in-house legal teams.

Wesley Butler

The Situation

Wesley Butler spent nearly two decades building one of Kentucky's most recognized healthcare law practices — arguing before the Kentucky Supreme Court, advising the Governor on health policy, and becoming a go-to voice for patient safety organizations at the federal level. When he founded Reed Health Law in early 2026, he needed a web presence that could carry that weight without a firm behind him. The challenge wasn't credentials — those were exceptional. The challenge was framing: how do you present a solo practice to hospital General Counsel and C-suite decision-makers in a way that signals national authority, not local availability? And how do you do it without overstating the firm's size, running afoul of Kentucky Bar rules, or resorting to the kind of overt self-promotion that would make a lawyer of Wes's caliber cringe?

The Solution

A single-page credentialing site built around one editorial principle: let the work speak, not the marketing. The design — built in Webflow on Finsweet Client-First architecture — leads with Wes's record rather than his pitch. Six practice areas defined in the language his clients already use. Credentials presented as typeset references, not badge art. Copy scrubbed of every instance of "our firm" and "we" and rewritten in first-person singular throughout. Typography (Instrument Serif paired with Instrument Sans) was chosen to sit at the exact intersection of institutional authority and contemporary precision. A canvas-based grain overlay adds material depth without raster overhead. The site was designed to WCAG 2.1 AA standards and loads in under two seconds — because the people it's built for don't wait.

The Result

Reed Health Law went live on May 5, 2026 — one day before Wes stepped on stage at a national AHRQ patient safety conference in Rockville, Maryland, speaking to healthcare quality professionals from across the country. For many attendees, it was their first encounter with the Reed Health Law name. The site was ready. From a single discovery call to a live, production-quality site in under three weeks. The architecture is built to scale — practice area detail pages, a potential invitation-only webinar component, and ongoing copy refinements are all on the roadmap without a rebuild. For a practice whose clients include hospital boards and federal agencies, the site does precisely what it was designed to do: it establishes credibility before the first conversation begins.
